To meet Shaun Haines is to encounter a man with vision, purpose, and a lifelong commitment to service. An experienced professional with director-level expertise and a proven track record in leadership, advocacy, and organizational development, Shaun combines his corporate acumen with a deep passion for community empowerment.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Shaun has lived in neighborhoods across the city. This breadth of lived experience gives him a uniquely holistic perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing diverse communities. The son of a social worker mother and a retired Marine father, Shaun grew up grounded in discipline, service, and compassion.
His professional journey spans strategic leadership, nonprofit management, communications, and project development. He has led initiatives that bridge technology, business, and social impact, consistently demonstrating the ability to manage complex operations while inspiring teams toward innovation and measurable success. Shaun’s director-level background includes spearheading multi-channel campaigns, improving organizational efficiency, and driving programs that elevate underrepresented voices.
A defining moment in his life came when a community member compared his demeanor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Taking this as a call to action, Shaun channeled his energy into activism. Over the years, he has fought against wrongful evictions and gentrification, organized efforts to combat HIV/AIDS in Black and Latino communities, and championed the rights of LGBTQ individuals. He has participated in major charitable events such as AIDS LifeCycle and founded art and photography initiatives to educate and engage the public.
Shaun is also a strong advocate for criminal justice reform, particularly addressing the systemic injustices that result in the deaths of unarmed Black and Brown men. He has advanced conversations on policy solutions — from body cameras to bias training — to ensure accountability and protect the sanctity of human life.
Equally committed to the next generation, Shaun supports programs such as San Francisco Impact Partners, which uplifts homeless individuals, ensuring that vulnerable access to resources, mentorship, and hope.
Through both personal experience and professional expertise, Shaun embodies resilience. He knows the realities of homelessness, workplace discrimination, and economic hardship firsthand — and he has transformed those challenges into fuel for leadership. Today, Shaun continues to represent the voices of the underserved while building solutions that work for all.

My Journey
When the world seemed shrouded in uncertainty during the 2020 lockdown and social unrest, I experienced a profound spiritual awakening. I realized my path includes a deep calling to heal—not just myself, but the world around me.
I began to notice I could tap into more than the physical world. Abilities such as healing, deep empathy, intuition became undeniable.
How I Practice
Growing up with multi-racial multi-cultural heritage, I was exposed to many spiritual traditions—from my early Catholic schooling to Muslim heritage, to encounters with Judaism, Buddhist, Hindu, and Wiccan practices. Each added depth to my worldview.
These traditions helped me heal from intense mental and emotional trauma and live a life of purpose and clarity.
What Guides My Work
I believe every person carries a spark of the Divine—an internal source of wisdom and wholeness that, when awakened, brings us together.
